Saafh Aqua-O Water Treatment Unit

The Saafh Aqua-O Water Treatment Unit (WTU) is a customized patent pending system designed to take bacteria-infested water and turn it into clean and safe bacteria-free water in seconds. The system is an all-encompassing self-contained equipment size of a small office desk. The design and functionality make for a hassle-free use application, from basic communal use, rural/urban areas, and industrial applications to disaster prone locales.

Centralized water treatment systems are what the entire world operates from. All projects are focused on the foundation of centralized system. This is the best method for the long-term sustainability of providing clean and safe water to the masses in a perfect world. BUT we all know the world in is never perfect. Human calamities, to natural events are now more common than we ever experienced in decades.  To implement a centralized system, to start with, a massive footprint of land is needed. Tremendous amount of engineering, design, construction is required. Land condemnation, to large infrastructure construction need to happen. To do so, most times the project starts with assessing the current need first, then projected need in 10 years, 20 year, 50 years into the future. After this study, which normally takes a couple of years, the governments’, and institutions, starts the process of evaluating the cost of the project.  At this point, the question of “how to fund the project” is looked at. These projects run in Millions of Dollars if not Billions. Takes anywhere from 10 – 12 years on the low spectrum to as much as 18+ years to complete from the beginning to the supply of a single drop of clean water. Hence, the question is – What do we do in the meantime? Decentralized water treatment is the answer.

As large capital requirements are a major impediment in providing safe clean water for developing countries around the globe, a decentralized system can be implemented immediately without the large capital expenditure, substantial infrastructure costs along with build-up time, and years of lead time needed akin to the traditional systems in use today.

Some particularly important criteria were taken into considerations in the design of the Saafh Aqua-O Water Treatment System. These criteria were the water source available, the output capacity needed, and most importantly, the power source. The design is a Lego block system where the equipment is modularized and put together depending on the source of water and the capacity needed. If grid power is available, the unit can be supplied directly with any power source (110v or 240v). Where grid power is an issue, it is designed to be powered with its own solar panel supplied with the unit along with a proprietary self-charging battery system. For mobile applications, the unit can be mounted on a truck and the lead lines can be directly tied into the vehicle alternator for the system to be charged while the vehicle is in motion. This will therefore provide clean water, wherever and whenever needed.

The system utilizes our proprietary and customizable embedded software and hardware components to deliver the Saafh Aqua-O liquid solution in a very precise ratio to clean contaminated water. An integrated filtration system along with primary and secondary treatment for bacteria and contaminants is the key element of the unit. Saafh Aqua-O liquid solution is injected into the stream of water passing through the WTU at a precise mix ratio. Then the system removes other contaminants via various filter mechanisms resulting in clean, bacteria-free water. With this system, the delivery of water to the user cannot be compromised due to old and dilapidated infrastructure, as usually is the case in most developing countries.

During the placement of the Saafh Aqua-O WTU, it can be customized based upon various criteria, i.e., water drawn from streams, ponds, swamps, lakes, bore holes, storage tanks, direct tap or other supply sources.

Proprietary mechanisms measure water output. The LCD panel signals various warning signs, i.e., to signal change of filter system, non-functioning components, etc. The system will automatically shut down when the system capacity is depleted so it can be serviced by our experts and brought back online. Remote monitoring of all WTUs with Wi-Fi availability is an enhancement feature, with 100+ units in operation within a particular area.
